Affected population: Cattle belonging to several farmers graze together on one farm and also dip together at the same dip tank. Cattle mostly older than 12 months were affected.

Epidemiology
Source of the outbreak(s) or origin of infection: Unknown or inconclusive
Epidemiological comments: Cattle mix during grazing and dipping, though kraaled [penned] at different households.

[In May 2022, 10 outbreaks of FMDV-SAT 2 were reported in cattle on neighboring farms in Guruve and Centenary, Mashonaland Central. According to the epidemiological comments: "All infected districts remain under strict quarantine with weekly livestock inspections in and around the infected areas. Control vaccinations were carried out with 21 992 cattle vaccinated out of [24 472] giving a good vaccination coverage of 89.5%." Zimbabwe belongs to the FAO's Pool 6 - Southern Africa, which includes 8 countries: Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
