The follow-up and monitoring of the foot-and-mouth disease epidemic resulted in the discovery of outbreaks in different areas of the Tlemcen province.
They were confirmed after taking blood samples to the regional veterinary laboratory of the Tlemcen province. The veterinary inspectorate re-vaccinated cattle around the outbreaks to limit its spread. It also called on cattle and sheep breeders not to introduce new heads to their herds, limit the entry of people into stables, vaccinate stables and place sterilization basins at the entrances to stables, in addition to stopping artificial insemination operations by private veterinarians and movement except in emergency cases.
In the event of the discovery of a new outbreak, it must be declared to the veterinary inspectorate of the province.
In the case of infected animals, there is a health accompaniment by private veterinarians to alleviate side effects.

The governor of [the Algerian state of] M'Sila, Tayar Najm Eddine, issued a decision to close all livestock markets and prevent the gathering of animals across the entire province [state], after recording outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease in some municipalities.
The decision also prohibits the transport and movement of livestock (cows, sheep, goats) across the state, except for those destined for municipal slaughterhouses, provided that they are accompanied by a health certificate.
The authorities stressed that these measures aim to limit the spread of the disease and protect livestock, calling on breeders to adhere to the instructions until further notice.
